through Creative Design
When we set out to design BARAGONTA – Luxury Hotel & Resort Villa, we understood the challenges we had cut out for us and knew that we had to always keep our creative hat in order to successfully bring the dream to reality.
One of the immediate challenges we faced, was how to address the scarce water supply on the island of Fogo, without having to make an unsurmountable investment. We needed a solution that was cost-effective, but most importantly environmentally friendly, and reusable.
Given our motto of “always in constant harmony with the ambiance”, we designed a Water Harvesting System, consisting of underground water reservoirs, which collects all the rainwater from the roofs of our buildings, storing it and making it available for use within the facility.
Our reservoirs which have the capacity to fully supply the hotel with water for 6 months of operation, contains an advanced filtering solution to eliminate the impurities, leaving us with clean water, applicable for all use. These kinds of creative ideas and solutions are some of the unique aspects that make BARAGONTA truly a remarkable sanctuary.
